Newsletter – June 2017 – help for first home buyers

In a bid to help first home buyers with housing affordability, there’s some great news from the NSW Government regarding stamp duty and first home owners grants.

From 1st July 2017, there will be no stamp duty payable on properties up to $650,000 for Australian owner occupiers and there will be First Home Owners grants available for new properties.

The savings are summarised below:

This is great news for first home buyers and we’d love you to share with friends, family or colleagues who are trying to get into the market.

We all know that owning property is a great way to build wealth and gain security, and if these changes can help more people own the roof over their head, that is what we’re aiming for.

Recently we have seen lenders tighten their lending criteria, particularly for investment loans, but they are still happy to help people get into the market – as long as the numbers add up.

The worst thing that can happen is for home ownership to become a financial strain or for it to have a detrimental impact on your lifestyle, so we now take more time working on budgets to ensure affordability of repayments – now and into the future.

We want people to gain security not stress!

If you know a first home buyer, please forward this email or send them my details. I’d love to help them secure their first property.

If you’re thinking of refinancing, upgrading or buying an investment property, give me a call. With all these changes, you need a good broker now more than ever.
